"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

The whole Adobe suite is amazing. The only problem I have with it is that I don't know where to start learning. Will a lifetime be enough? The day seem pretty short when you're busy learning. How much of the tutorials, books, examples do I have to go through before I can say: "ok. Now it's time to do something on my own!"? I'll think about this for a while.
